Depending on the configuration of each vineyard, planting can be done manually or mechanically. It takes place from mid-March to mid-May, depending on the state of the soil. Ideally, the subsoil should be slightly damp, while the topsoil should be dry.
Only grafted vines are used: on one side the rootstock, which will be placed in the soil, and on the other side the scion that will determine the grape variety. Both parts are grafted together mechanically, and then placed in a hothouse to bind together and develop roots. Afterwards, the grafted vine will be cultivated in a nursery for one year before being sold.
