Late Harvest

The “Vendanges Tardives” (Late Harvest) indication on the label may apply to the appellations of Alsace or Alsace Grand Cru. It designates exceptional wines produced according to criteria that are among the strictest of all French AOC wines.

Late Harvest wines are made from Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Riesling or Muscat grapes, picked when over-ripe, generally several weeks after the official start of harvest.

In addition to the specific grape variety and its unique aromatic and flavour profile, great intensity results from the process of concentration and the development of Noble Rot (Botrytis Cinerea).
